Woodland Heights Fire Contained!

The Woodland Heights has been 100% contained. The fire was burning in Estes Park at High Drive near the junction of Hwy. 36 and Hwy. 66, near Rocky Mountain National Park, just north of the Beaver Meadows entrance station. There were approximately 16 structures involved and the fire has been estimated at 20 acres.

Evacuations were issued for the south side of Elkhorn Avenue from Spruce Avenue to Wonderview Avenue. A pre-evacuation alert was ordered for the north side of Elkhorn Avenue, and from Heinz Parkway west to High Drive to the Rocky Mountain National Park border. The fire did not entered Rocky Mountain National Park.

A citizen’s briefing was held at the Estes Park High School at 7:00 p.m. Estes Park Fire Chief Scott Dorman conduced the briefing.

A Type 3 team assumed management of the fire and Larimer County Emergency Services is assisting the local fire department with the fire.
