Wilma “Billie” North
Billie North passed away January 3, 2013. She was born, Wilma Jane Scott, on April 15, 1930 in Ransom KS. She married D. Keith North on July 17, 1948. He was the love of her life.
Billie and Keith resided in Colorado for most of her last 40 years. After retirement from teaching and managing cabins they summered in KS. Billie received her BA in Elementary Education after her four children were grown. She taught in Kansas and Colorado for 26 years. Billie and Keith ran Sleepy Hollow Cabins & North Park Lodge for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Loveland. She was preceded in death by Keith North, grandson Patrick North, & great-grandson Hunter North.
Billie is survived by three siblings, four children, 14 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren. Billie & Keith raised two of their granddaughters, Carmen & Sheila while residing in Loveland, Colorado. She was a passionate artist in all mediums and loved the Rocky Mountains.
Her memorial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on June 8th, 2013, at the Drake Assoc. Bldg. The building is on Hwy. 34 in the Big Thompson Canyon beside the new Drake Fire Station.
