Estes Park resident William “Bill” Scott died at Prospect Park Living Center on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. He was 78 years old. William L. Scott was born October 2, 1929 in Wellsburg, WV. His parents were Edwin Earl and Lucile (Farnsworth) Scott.
Bill graduated from Wheaton, IL High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan University. He married Dorothy Henning on June 27, 1954 in Fairbury, IL. Bill worked as a commercial photographer for General Electric and Caterpillar Tractor Company until 1973. Bill and Dorothy then moved to Estes Park, CO where they owned Manor RV Park and Highlander Laundry and Dry Cleaners. Bill also owned Century 21 Real Estate in Estes Park. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Estes Park, the Merchant’s Association and the Shriners. He was an avid model railroader and also enjoyed RVing.
Bill is survived by his wife Dorothy of Estes Park; a son, Sid Scott and wife Lois of Estes Park; a daughter, Cheryl Lancaster of Grafton, NH; and a granddaughter, Lucy Scott of Estes Park.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 1509 Fish Hatchery Road, Estes Park, CO.
