Wellness Center Will Give EP Much Needed Economic Spark We Need
To the Editor:
As a business woman and single mom who has raised her family in Estes Park, I know from experience just how challenging it is to try to make a living in a community whose economy is decidedly seasonal. What I’ve seen over my 35 years as an Estes Park business woman are trends that make this situation worse harder and harder for me to sustain my business model. And I am not alone. Without a project like the EPMC/Anschutz Wellness Center to help change things it is doubtful that we will be able to sustain our current local economy for another five to 10 years. I want to be able to continue to do business in Estes Park. When the time comes, I also look forward to retiring here. I firmly believe that EPMC/Anschutz Wellness Center project will give us the economic spark we need to allow me, and others like me, to achieve such dreams. My request to you is a simple one: I ask that you vote YES on ballot issue 1B – the sale of Lot 4 in Stanley Historic District to the Grand Heritage Hotel Group, and vote NO on ballot issue 2 – that would make Lot 4 open space forever.
