Walter Allen Graham
Walter was known as Al to all his friends. He had a brother, Bert and a sister Lois, who have also recently passed.
Al started working for Coca Cola in San Diego, California after traveling to the West Coast. He then worked at General Dynamics and Rohr Industries as a machinist.
He later found a position with General Electric that involved traveling and living in many states doing various managerial and supervisory roles for the company until the seventies when he retired.
Al came to the Estes Valley about 25 years ago by accident and fell in love with the mountains and parks. He was a special breed of person who volunteered at church camps and visitor centers in and around the area to be around people.
He was an avid hiker and belonged to a group of close friends who went on weekly outings in and around the plethora of high peaks.
His failing health found him most recently in Estes Park Medical Center’s Prospect Park Living Center where he passed on September 15, 2013.
“Mom always liked you best” was a phrase we are sure his magnificent caregivers at Prospect Park Living Center heard him say more than once or twice.
Al is survived by his sons Jerry and Ron and a daughter, Karen Graham. Surviving grandchildren are Justin, Katelyn, Ciera and April Graham and a great granddaughter Rowan Jean Graham.
From the family: A special “Thank You” to Guy and Anne Muelener who have given so much of their heart and time making sure Dad always had a friend and advocate.
