Veteran’s Day Service At Estes Valley Memorial Gardens Friday, November 11
The program will begin with a Prelude on the Bagpipes by Skylar Johnson and Jim Thompson, pipers, followed by the presenation of the colors by the Color Guard of the Joseph J. Duncan, Jr. Post 119 of the American Legion, commanded by Richard Oversteg and an Honor Guard of members of Scout Troop 8.
The “Star Spangled Banner” will be played by Lt. Col. Loren Johnson USAF (Ret.) on trumpet followed by the Welcome and Pledge of Alligiance by Pat Newsom, President of Estes Valley Memorial Gardens.
Invocation will then be given by Ron Bockhaus, Pastor of Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church and then Scott Anderson will sing “America the Beautiful” with Remarks and Reflections by Gary Brown, Lieutenant Colonel (R-Army). A Toast to the Flag will be given by Milt Garrett, EM2-Navy and “God Bless America” will then be sung by Scott Anderson.
Benediction will be given by Pastor Bockhaus and a Rifle Salute will be given by the Color Guard. Taps will then be played by Lt. Col. Johnson with a finale on the bagpipes.
Veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms. Estes Valley Memorial Gardens is located at 1672 Fish Hatchery Road, off of Fall River Road.
