U.S. 34 & U.S. 36 Estes Park Intersection Reconstruction Project
Beginning Monday, May 20, 2013 and lasting through Friday, May 31, 2013, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will start the first phase of a reconstruction project on the intersection of US34A/US34C/US36C in Estes Park, CO. This first phase of work includes drilling and installation of caissons for new traffic signals at each corner of the intersection.
No work will be done between May 31 and September 30 to accommodate Estes Park’s busy summer tourist season and related events.
The second phase of the project is scheduled to begin after September 30, 2013 and will involve installation of upgraded traffic signals, and much needed safety improvements to sidewalks and islands.
Interface Communications is the contractor for this $369,000 project.
Project Schedule & Delays
Phase one construction will begin Monday, May 20, 2013 and last through Friday, May 31, 2013. Phase two construction will begin after September 30, 2013 and is expected to last through December 2013. Normal work hours for both phases will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday – Friday. Travelers can expect single lane closures throughout the construction zone. Pedestrian crosswalks impacted by construction will be clearly identified with a marked detour.
Weekend work is not anticipated, however, work hours will be dependent on weather and work load.
