Tree-trimming around power lines begins in Glen Haven and surrounding area

Estes Park Light and Power has contracted with Asplundh Tree Experts to begin trimming trees around high voltage power lines and customer service lines this week. For approximately two months, the contractor will be working along County Road 43 and in the Glen Haven and Retreat areas.

Tree-trimming takes place in Town right-of-ways and easements to reduce fire danger and increase the safety and reliability of electric service to Light and Power customers. The contractor’s vehicles will be outfitted with signs that state, “Under contract with the Town of Estes Park.” The contractor will contact property owners if tree trimming will take place in the immediate vicinity of a home or business.
