Tree Lighting Ceremony This Saturday 11/24
Tree Lighting Ceremony and festivities to take place Nov. 17 in Riverside Plaza. Ornament purchases and Blue Santa donations support those in need
The Town of Estes Park’s Christmas Tree Lighting festivities take place beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Riverside Plaza. The events will recreate an Estes Park celebration from 60 years ago. Riverside Plaza is located just west of East Riverside Drive on Fall River. Mayor Bill Pinkham and Town officials will hold the official Tree Lighting Ceremony promptly at 5:30 p.m.
From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., participants can begin the holiday season by decorating a stocking and enjoying radio flyer wagon rides, sweet treats and hot chocolate, and an early visit with Santa Claus. Holiday arts and craft vendors will display their merchandise. Helping Hands ornament sales and Blue Santa donations will provide an opportunity to give back to the community.
From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Blue Santa donations of non-perishable food, hygiene products and monetary donations will be accepted by uniformed Police Department Auxiliary members. These donations are delivered to disabled, shut-in and elderly community residents in mid-December. For more information on Blue Santa, please contact Amanda Nagl at 970-577-3822 or email@example.com.
Also from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., 2012 collector holiday ornaments will be for sale for $10 each by the Town of Estes Park Helping Hands Committee, with all proceeds supporting local families in need as well as local student scholarships. The ornament commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Estes Park Woman’s Club. For more information on the Helping Hands ornament, please visit www.estes.org/communityinfo or call 970-577-3721.
