Tree Lighting Ceremony Saturday, November 23rd
The Town of Estes Park’s Christmas Tree Lighting festivities will take place beginning at 4:30 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 23 in Riverside Plaza. Mayor Bill Pinkham and Town officials will hold the official Tree Lighting Ceremony promptly at 5:30 p.m. There will be a special portion of this year’s ceremony dedicated to those individuals who went above and beyond during our September flooding.
From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., participants can celebrate the holiday season by decorating a stocking and enjoying radio flyer wagon rides, sweet treats and hot chocolate, and an early visit with Santa Claus. Holiday arts and craft vendors will display their merchandise. Helping Hands ornament sales and Blue Santa donations will provide an opportunity to give back to the community.
From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Blue Santa donations of non-perishable food, hygiene products and monetary donations will be accepted by uniformed Police Department Auxiliary members. These donations are delivered to disabled, shut-in and elderly community residents in mid-December. For more information on Blue Santa, please contact Commander Corey Pass at 970-577-3828 or email@example.com.
Also from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., 2013 collector holiday ornaments will be for sale for $10 each by the Town of Estes Park Helping Hands Committee, with all proceeds supporting local families in need as well as local student scholarships. The ornament commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Estes Park Duck Race. For more information on the Helping Hands ornament, please visit www.estes.org/communityinfo or call 970- 577-3721.
