Town Board To Consider Town Administrator Contract

The Estes Park Town Board will review a proposed contract for its preferred Town Administrator candidate at a special public meeting on Wednesday, April 4 at 1 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Town Board Room of Town Hall, at 170 MacGregor Ave. The public is encouraged to attend and comment before the board takes official action on the contract. The Town expects to announce the name of the candidate in a news release on Friday, March 30, as well as post the proposed contract at Written comments on the candidate and contract may be submitted before April 4 to Town Clerk Jackie Williamson at or delivered to the Administrative Services Department at Town Hall in Room 130.

Through a national search, the Town received 104 applications for the Town Administrator position. After reviewing the search consultant’s report on the leading candidates during a March 5 special meeting, the board selected the six finalists. Last week, following a two-day intensive interview process, the board directed the search consultant and the Town Attorney to pursue negotiations with a preferred candidate for the position. The process included a community interview panel, a staff interview panel, and a community “meet and greet” reception, in addition to a formal interview with the Board of Trustees. The Town Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Town, carrying out the policies set by the Town Board.
