Slash Pile Burning Starts Near Estes Park

U.S. Forest Service crews plan to start burning slash piles created as part of the Estes Valley Fuels Reduction Project today above the Little Valley and Windcliff subdivisions. Burning could continue throughout the winter in an effort to reduce hazardous fuels in the area. Conditions are evaluated each day of the burn to determine if ignition will take place.
