Mid-winter doldrums got you down? Need something to get you excited for spring in Estes Park? Bored with your tired, old winter duds? It’s time to get out on the town, have some fun, enjoy a scrumptious dinner and see the newest spring lines in a professionally modeled fashion show. It’s time for The Gala!
The Gala, to be held Saturday, March 21, 6:00 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Holiday Inn, is a new, out-of-the-ordinary event, held for the first time in Estes Park and hosted by the Estes Park Medical Center Foundation. The event will include cocktails, dinner, a silent auction and a fabulous fashion show featuring professional models showing off the newest spring styles.
Silent auction items include four Broncos tickets, four Rockies tickets, a two-night stay in a three-bedroom cabin at YMCA of the Rockies, a one-night stay with breakfast and massages for two at the Romantic Riversong Bed & Breakfast, a variety of delightful and delectable gift baskets, and many enticing gifts and services from our local merchants.
All proceeds from this enchanting evening will benefit the Estes Park Medical Center in aiding with the purchase of two pieces of new equipment, an autoSCAN-4 and a flexible fiber optic nasopharyngoscope. (That’s nahs-oh-fah-RIN-jah-scope.) The autoSCAN is a piece of equipment used every day by the Medical Center’s laboratory staff to identify bacteria and test antibiotic sensitivity. The fiber optic “scope” is a valuable tool needed by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Estes Park’s ear, nose and throat doctor, to examine a patient’s upper airway. The scope is important in evaluating voice problems such as hoarseness, chronic cough, swallowing problems, and detecting blockages which may cause snoring and sleep apnea.
These two special pieces of equipment were identified by our laboratory and medical staffs as crucial to providing quality health care for residents of and visitors to the Estes Valley. Therefore, this year the Estes Park Medical Center Foundation is raising funds for the purchase of this equipment.
The Gala is sponsored by Aspen Investments, Pat Barnett, Country Super Market, Estes Park News, Mimi and David Hardendorf, Judy Hemberger, Frank and Alma Hix, George and Glonda Hix, LBN Insurance, Mountain Woodworks, Ken and Jackie Oldham, Penelopes Old Time Burgers, and Romantic Riversong Bed & Breakfast.
At $65 per person, tickets to The Gala may be purchased at Macdonald Book Shop, the Estes Park Medical Center Foundation office, the lobby of the Estes Park Medical Center, via phone at 577-4370 or online at epmcfoundation.com.
Break out of your mid-winter doldrums and enjoy a great social evening at The Gala, Saturday, March 21. In turn, you will be supporting quality health care in the Estes Valley.
