Tax Day Tea Party
To The Editor:
The 3.7 trillion-dollar budget has been passed. What will result from this act? Our national debt will be tripled. Our children’s future is now at risk.
A huge expansion of the power of the federal government has taken place. The federal government will not only decide on company’s CEO’s but on who shall be on the Board of Directors of companies. Increased health care will be paid for by increased taxes and reduced Medicare and Medicaid. Even businesses will have to pay for the use of oil, natural gas, and fossil fuels! Do you approve? Instead of our industries being stimulated they will be depressed because products produced in the United States will not be able to compete with foreign made products.
Shall we continue to do nothing while prices rise, incomes shrink, unemployment grows, businesses go bankrupt, and savings dwindle? Shall we continue to let the Federal Government rob us of our liberty and our livelihood while the administration sets policies with little or no debate in Congress? Or shall you let your voice of protest be heard on Tax Day, April 15th at noon in Bond Park. On Tax Day
“We the People” from all across America are assembling to express their grievances and petition for change. This Tea Party is patterned after one some 240 years ago so bring your tea bag.
As our First Amendment to the Constitution states, “Congress shall make no laws-prohibiting or abridging freedom of speech or the right of the people to peaceably assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
