Tanya Peters

Obit-PetersTanya (Adrian) Peters, 59, of San Diego, formerly of Estes Park, CO, passed peacefully on July 2nd, 2014 at her home in San Diego. Tanya was born on May 12th, 1955 in Estes Park, CO to Dwight and Virginia Adrian. Her parents precede her in death.

Tanya remained in Estes Park after graduating from Estes Park High School in 1973 and in 1983, married Gene Peters. She has three amazing children Tiffany, Todd and Samantha.

Tanya was very involved and well known in the Estes Park community, especially with the Estes Park Swim program where she dedicated much of her time volunteering for the Estes Park Otters and was a passionate official for USS swimming. When she wasn’t officiating, you could always find her in the stands, cheering on the team with the rest of her swimming family. She was also very involved in the Estes Park Rodeo and was on the Rodeo committee. Tanya was also a friendly face at the Sundeck restaurant where she worked for 17 years.

Tanya had many loves, among those being a love for her family, her animals, and of course, having fun. She was known for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Besides her three children, Tanya was a mom to so many others, always staying involved with community events. She was never afraid to try out a new hairstyle or get her nails done at a moment’s notice. These are just a few of her passions, as Tanya lived life to the fullest and was always up for trying something new. An avid football fan, you would often see her on her way to CU Buff’s games or Broncos games, a passion ignited by her father and his season tickets when she was a young girl. Tanya was an avid Broncos fan and never missed a game, even after moving away from Colorado.

While Tanya loved the Rocky Mountains and living in Estes Park, she never cared for the snow, so in 2004 she and Pete decided to move to California, where their daughter was attending college, so they were never far from family. Many memories were made, especially taking drives up and down the 101 to Coronado. Tanya loved the sunshine and was happy spending the past 10 years in San Diego and traveling all over the country. She had a love like no other for the beauty of flowers and the earth around her.

Tanya will be mostly remembered for being an incredible mom and wife. She lived her life for her husband and three children. Her husband, Pete was her one true love and he was with her through thick and thin, caring for her even through the most difficult times.

“I realized when I looked at my mother, I was looking at the purest love I will ever know.” This quote by her son Todd, sums up the love Tanya had for her family and for life.

Tanya is survived by her husband, Pete Peters, daughter Tiffany Adrian and grand daughters Aidan and Aela Adrian of Bend, Oregon, son Todd Adrian of Denver, youngest daughter Samantha Peters of San Diego, and sister Terry Hardy of Carefree, AZ.

At this time, no memorial services have been scheduled. All memorial donations may be sent to Samantha Peters 5476 Kiowa Dr. #28 La Mesa, CA. 91942. We will notify all friends and family of future services.
