Sustainable Estes Events-A Wealth Of Opportunities
Tour Offers More Locations; Sustainable Estes Events This Saturday!
Formerly the Estes Park Solar and Green Home Tour, this year’s tour has evolved into the Sustainable Estes Green Living Tour. With more homes and businesses this year – nine tour stops in all — the tour offers a diverse sampling of how structures can be made more energy efficient and sustainable. The locations demonstrate a variety of renewable energy systems, examples of sustainable design, green building technologies, environmentally-friendly (and more healthy) construction materials and much more. Two homes are totally off the grid – not connected to public utilities. The tour, an annual educational event coordinated by TW Beck Architects, is held again this year in conjunction with the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour.
Concurrent with this year’s tour there is a Green Living Expo which extends the educational impact of the tour, offering attendees the opportunity to connect with providers and professionals, and attend presentations by experts in a multitude of fields related to sustainability and energy efficiency, conservation, recycling, land protection, renewable energy, sustainable business practices and more.
The Green Living Tour will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Green Living Expo will be held at the Estes Park Conference Center/Rocky Mountain Park Inn, 101 S. St. Vrain Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Tickets, which provide entry to both events, cost $5.00 for adults; children and youth under 18 are admitted free of charge. Prior to the event, tickets can be purchased at TW Beck Architects/Anderson Realty & Management located at 170 S. Saint Vrain Avenue (Hwy. 7) or Coldwell Banker Estes Village Properties located at 320 E. Elkhorn Avenue. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event at the Estes Park Conference Center/Rocky Mountain Park Inn.
