Suspect Arrested For Armed Robbery

At approximately 10 a.m. on April 5, Estes Park Police and Loveland Police arrested a 43 year old male from Fort Collins, at a Loveland residence at 2008 Diana Drive. The male was arrested for an armed robbery committed in Estes Park. He is charged with Aggravated Robbery (Felony 3), Menacing (Felony 5), False Imprisonment (Felony 5), and Third Degree Assault (Misdeameanor 1).

The armed robbery took place on April 2 at Memories Old Time Portraits, 132 West Elkhorn Ave. in Estes Park. An anonymous tip led Estes Park Police investigators to the suspect.

“We take the safety of our community very seriously and have worked around the clock to get this suspect off the streets,” said Estes Park Police Chief Wes Kufeld. “We appreciate the assistance of the Loveland Police Department in this case.”

The man is being transported to the Larimer County Jail, where he will be held on $100,000 bond. The charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

(Editor’s note: this is not believed to be the same suspect responsible for the West Elkhorn burglaries. See this link for more info on that event.)
