Supports 1% Tax Increase
To The Editor:
The proposed Estes Valley Inter-generational Community Center would be an extremely beneficial addition for all our citizens. This welcoming facility will offer something for everyone—a ‘wellness wing,’ involving our own hospital personnel for wellness training and rehabilitation, and will include an indoor running/walking track, a swimming pool as well as exercise equipment; a satellite branch of our excellent public library; a cozy gathering place for coffee and conversation; a variety of meeting rooms; school-district sponsored student enrichment programs, and an active Senior Center complete with all their myriad of opportunities, classes and activities.
A portion of financing for this Center will come from supporting foundations and grants, but a necessary part must come from the proposed temporary 1% sales tax increase that will appear on the ballot in April. We ask you to please, please become familiar with the facts of this issue, the advantage to our entire Community and to vote “yes” on April 1st.
