Sunrise Rotary’s Autumn Gold Celebration Next Weekend

The cool weather and fall colors tells you it’s time for Sunrise Rotary’s Autumn Gold, a fall celebration held September 20th and 21st that raises funds for youth scholarships.

Now in its 16th year, this Rotary fundraiser in Bond Park features cold beer, soft drinks, bratwursts, hot dogs and live music from talented local and Front Range bands.

The highlight of Autumn Gold is the popular reverse raffle, which features more than 100 valuable prizes, including several travel packages. The last ticket chosen on Sunday afternoon wins the grand prize of $5,000. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased from any Sunrise Rotary club member, or can be obtained at the festival before the drawing begins on Sunday.

All proceeds go to benefit vocational scholarships and grants to deserving area youth.  This year the Sunrise Rotary Foundation awarded 15 scholarships for more than $10,000 to Estes Valley high school students.
Entertainment varies from jazz to rock ‘n roll to country music. Featured artists from the Front Range include Max Wagner,  Wendy Woo and the Loose Cannon Blue Grass Band. Estes Park area bands are The Elktones, Brad Fitch and Elk Hollow.

The fun begins at 10 a.m. each day and continues until 5 p.m.  Enjoy terrific music, unbeatable food, and take a chance on winning the $5,000 grand prize while contributing to the future of the youth in Estes Park.
Elk Hollow

Gary Reeves and Jack Overly of Elk Hollow have been performing together for more than 10 years. They play a variety of songs from many eras in their own acoustic folk style. Sing along with Elk Hollow’s American and Irish folk songs, songs of the 1960s and original compositions.

The Elktones
—   Local musicians Dick Orleans, Mark Rashid and Brad Doggett team up with Jennifer White and Jimmy Sferes for the last Autumn Gold set. The Elktones perform original and favorite songs in blues, rock, folk and country styles.

Brad Fitch
Brad Fitch specializes in original acoustic folk, family and Western music. He performs at fairs, concerts, fund-raisers, weddings, picnics, parades, school programs, parties and at cowboy and Western music festivals throughout the United States. He is known for their melodic folk music and songs written about the places he has traveled.

Wendy Woo
Multicultural in both heritage and outlook, Wendy Woo displays a blend of soul, vibrancy, and wild child attitude. A passionate live performer who connects instantly with her audiences, her songs are wide-ranging in style but always pure in emotion: from down and dirty blues to defiant ex-lover funks to summer day sambas to wistful ballads.

Loose Cannon Bluegrass Band
Loose Cannon offers high energy and sweet bluegrass harmonies.  This acoustic bluegrass group is gaining a reputation for its driving instrumentals, tight harmonies and varied arrangements.  Band members have decades of combined experience and it shows in their versatility.

Max Wagner
