Estes Park resident Stefanie Hoel died at her home on Friday, November 14, 2008. She was 66 years old. Stefanie Beers was born April 15, 1942 in Ft. Wayne, IN. Her parents were Ward and Marjorie (Paulison) Beers.
Stefanie graduated from Flagstaff High School and the University of Arizona at Tucson. She married Bill Hoel on August 4, 1973 in Tucson, AZ. She taught elementary school in California and Junior High School and Modern Dance in Tucson, AZ. She also taught elementary school, junior high school and high school in Sterling, CO for 15 years, the last eight years as the French teacher. Stefanie lived in California, Arizona, Kansas and the last 23 years in Colorado. In January 2006 she moved to Estes Park. Stefanie was a member of the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Sterling, CO
Stefanie loved dance and performance and was involved in many musicals over the years. She was a very loving and supportive mother, wife, sister and friend who always looked at the bright side of life. She will be greatly missed by all who love her.
She is survived by her husband Bill Hoel of Estes Park, CO; a daughter Jacqueline Lawson and husband Jeremy of Bellvue, CO; and a brother Tom Hoag of Woodland, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her adopted father, Arthur Hoag.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday November 19, 2008 at Peace Lutheran Church in Sterling, CO. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of Estes Valley in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 1302 Graves Avenue, Estes Park, CO 80517.
