Stanley Fisher

Born Stanley Leroy Fisher in Greeley, Colorado to James R. Fisher and Mary Sophie Bishop Fisher on February 6, 1935. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on February 12, 2010.

Stan had two brothers, Kenneth Fisher, who died in infancy, and Jack A. Fisher, three sisters, Donna Crew, Carol Collins and husband Jim, and Linda Crowder and husband James. He attended school in Greeley before joining the Navy in 1952 where he served on the aircraft carrier Valley Forge as a radioman. He returned to Greeley in 1955 where he lived and worked until he retired. He married Lucille Berry in 1957 and had two daughters, Debra Fisher Hanson and Robin Fisher Medina. In 1996 he married Barbara Felte and moved to Estes Park where they owned and operated Barbara’s Bed & Breakfast.

Stan was a member of the Estes Park Masonic Blue Lodge #183 and the Order of the Eastern Star, past member of the Elks, and the Greeley Four Wheel Drive Club.

Stan was preceded in death by his father, Jim Fisher, mother Mary Bishop Janssen and brother Kenneth Fisher and sister, Linda Crowder. He is survived by a brother Jack Fisher and wife Carolee; sisters Donna Crew, Carol Collins and husband Jim; daughters Debra Fisher Hanson and Robin Fisher Medina and husband Larry; step daughters Kristi Gunter, Amy Felte Duff and husband Ed, and Jennifer Felte Quevedo and husband Rick; grandchildren Jennifer and husband Nate, Matt and wife Idaly, Lacey and Cole; four step grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Allnutt Macy Chapel, 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO. A reception will follow at the Allnutt Reception Center. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Larimer County Humane Society, or Hospice of the Estes Valley in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 1302 Graves Avenue, Estes Park, CO 80517.
