Sponsors Needed For Bike To Work/Bike To Play Week June 21-28
The Town of Estes Park, the Estes Park Medical Center, Estes Valley Recreation and Park District, Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park Cyclist Coalition and the Estes Park Marathon are sponsoring Estes Park’s second Bike to Work Day Wednesday, June 25. Cyclists will be offered a free breakfast, coffee, giveaways, activities, bike check-ups, live entertainment and a chance to win prizes from 6 a.m.- 9 a.m. at the Estes Park Visitor Center, 500 Big Thompson Avenue. Estes Park joins communities across the state to encourage residents to try bicycle commuting as a healthy and safe alternative to driving, and activities will take place rain or shine. “Bicycling is a healthy, environmentally friendly option for commuting to work – and it makes parking easy!” commented Estes Park Town Administrator Frank Lancaster.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of last year’s event, the festivities will be expanded to become Bike to Work, Bike to Play Week, which will incorporate an entire week of activities June 21-28. Bicycling events for all ages and abilities will occur throughout the entire week to encourage residents and visitors to participate and celebrate cycling in the Estes Valley and in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Locals can support this growing event by participating in activities or making donations. For information on sponsoring, please contact Rita Kurelja at 970-577-3733 or Karen Nicholson at 970-586-2200. Sponsorship opportunities include cash or in-kind donations to provide participants with breakfast and coffee, as well as signage and other items needed for the event. Prizes and giveaways for participants are also needed. Individuals and organizations interested in sponsoring the event are asked to respond by Friday, June 6.
