Snowshoe Hermit Park!

Hermit Park is the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources’ newest area, located just southeast of scenic Estes Park off of Hwy 36. Join our Volunteer Naturalists Sue and Bill for a series of snowshoe expeditions exploring this spectacular area. Clinics for beginners as well as experienced snowshoe enthusiasts will be offered. Clinics will be cancelled if snow conditions are poor.

Saturday February 21, at 10:00 a.m. “Beginning Snowshoeing.” If you got a pair of snowshoes for the holidays and haven’t figured out how the bindings work yet, this program is for you. This will be an approximately two hour program over easy terrain designed to help you become comfortable with your equipment and snowshoe technique. Meet at the group use pavilion area. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and bring along plenty of water for the trail. Hike rating: Easy. Program is free, but a $6 day use fee is required at the entrance station.  Registration required!

Saturday February 28, at 10:00 a.m. “Intermediate Snowshoeing.” Explore Hermit Park easily on top of the powder in this approximately three hour program designed with the intermediate snowshoers in mind. Meet at the group use pavilion area. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and bring along plenty of water for the trail. Hike rating: Easy. Program is free, but a $6 day use fee is required at the entrance station. Registration required!
