Sign Up For Citizens Police Academy
The 2009 Citizen’s Police Academy, hosted by the Estes Park Police Department, will take place beginning January 12 and continuing through February 12. The classes are held each Monday and Thursday night from 6-9 p.m. The Academy takes place in the Municipal Building each night, in room 202.
There are a total of ten classes that will expose you to everything from Constitutional Law to Crime Scene Investigation and many, many things in between that are common in most law enforcement agencies as well as things that are uniquely Estes. Feedback from community members who have participated over the last eleven years is positive and appreciative. Many are even so interested in the classes that they choose to continue involvement with the police department through one or more of its volunteer programs, though this is not a requirement for the class.
If you have any questions or would like more complete details, please call Amanda Nagl, Community Services Manager, at 577-3822. The class is limited to 30 members and the registration deadline, originally January 2, has been extended to January 7 at 5 p.m. You may pick up and drop off applications at the window of the Police Department, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
