Saturday, September 20-The Wild Bunch. What are those small creatures scurrying around Bear Lake? Is it a chipmunk or a squirrel? Are they important? Squirrels, chipmunks and marmots are some of Rocky’s smaller wildlife – but wild they are! Come learn about their lifestyle and even hear a “tall tale” about a tiny animal.
Saturday, September 27-The Pika – Heir of the Ice Age Rocky’s alpine tundra is home to the pika, a small hare. Leftover from the Ice Age, specifically adapted to the frigid alpine environment, the pika is a likely indicator of climate change. Find out about this hearty, alpine rabbit so many people adore!
