Senior Center Thanks Volunteers And Community

To The Editor:

As a fund raising project for the Senior Citizen Center of Estes Park, a breakfast buffet, for the entire community, was served on a Saturday in June, July, August and September. This year, 30 to 35 volunteers from the Senior Center pitched in and worked at each of the four breakfasts. They contributed a total of 600 hours while serving 1,158 breakfasts. The success of these breakfasts goes out to the citizens of Estes Park and the surrounding areas for supporting our endeavors. Net proceeds realized, from these summer social events, help support our Meals on Wheels, speakers, programs, improvements to our facility, the Heritage Garden, day trips to various places of interest, as well as educational and exercise programs, just to name a few activities that transpire at the center.

We want to extend a thank you to our Senior Center director and program coordinator, Lori Mitchell and Nancy Matson for their support and leadership. Thanks goes out to all of the volunteers, which are too many to mention individually, but make these breakfasts possible. Without all of their help and the volunteer hours they contribute it would not be possible to put on the four summer breakfasts buffets.

We must also extend a thank you to The Egg & I for their generous contributions and to Catering For All Occasions for their behind the scenes help.
