Senator Mark Udall Tours Estes Park, Surveys Ongoing Recovery Efforts
U.S. Senator Mark Udall visited Estes Park, one of the communities hit worst by September’s flood, to meet with local residents and survey the ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts. Udall reviewed the active efforts to repair damaged roads, highways and water infrastructure and called the resilience of Estes Park residents “a testament to the Colorado spirit of strength and independence.”
U.S. Highway 36, a critical route between Lyons and Estes Park, reopened on Monday— more than three weeks ahead of schedule. Much of the funding for rebuilding this highway and others like U.S. Highway 34 between Estes Park and Loveland comes from $450 million in federal funds Udall successfully secured for Colorado’s flood recovery.
