Sally Uhlir, of Estes Park died in Fort Collins on July 7, 2011. She was 74 years old. The cause of her death was myelofibrosis, a rare blood disorder.
Sally was born to Elmer and Florence (Grube) Uhlir in Rapid City, SD on March 7, 1937. She received a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado and taught for 20 years in Port Washington-Long island, NY. She completed an MA degree in Curriculum and teaching, and an M Ed. Degree in Special Education with an emphasis upon Learning Disabilities from Columbia University in New York City.
Sally returned to Greeley in 1979 and taught for 13 years in School District Six. She retired in 1992 and moved to Estes Park. Sally is survived by several cousins as well as many dear and treasured friends. Following cremation, the ashes will be inurned with a graveside service at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City.
