Estes Park resident Ruby Maple died at Prospect Park Living Center on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. She was 91 years old. Ruby Ellen Hamm was born on January 11, 1917 in Rushville, IN. Her parents were Samuel and Laura (Stacey) Hamm.
Ruby graduated from Knightstown High School. She married Thomas Maple on July 3, 1935 in Knightstown, IN. Ruby lived in Florida from 1960 to 2005. She moved to Good Samaritan, Estes Park Village in June 2005.
Ruby was a member of the Friends Church in Knightstown, IN. She and her husband Tom enjoyed golf. Her husband owned a lumber company and was a contractor in Florida. Ruby was helpful with the interior decorating of her husband’s projects.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Nancy Maple of Estes Park, CO; a brother, Phillip Hamm of Knightstown, IN; a sister, Adrienne Jarrett of Kennard, IN; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Maple, and three siblings, Rodney, Marie and Virgil.
