Robert Lee “Bob” Porter

Robert Lee “Bob” Porter, 71, Topeka, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

Bob was born Mar. 20, 1941, in Kansas City MO, the son of Buel F. and Roberta Dawe Porter. His family relocated to Estes Park CO in 1951, where he remained until 2008. On April 5, 1983, Bob and Karla Tillman were united in marriage in Allenspark CO. She survives. Bob served the Estes Park community as a banker from 1969 until his retirement in January of 2000. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and served in the Civil Air Patrol. Bob was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hiking, skiing, mountain climbing and spelunking. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Other survivors include his children, Kenneth Porter of Estes Park CO and Karla Mazurek and husband, Martin, of Brooksville FL; grandson, Cody Porter, Tampa FL; and nephew, Scott Souther, Firestone CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Barbara Porter, his half-brother, Frank Porter and his best friend, Bernie.

Mr. Porter’s body was cremated. His memorial service will be Thursday, November 8th at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Church of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, where family will greet friends immediately following the service.
