Road Closures And Traffic Interuptions Expected During Repaving Projects

Traffic interruptions and road closures are expected on Crags Drive and Stanley Avenue associated with the 2008 Public Works Department street improvement program which will be underway by the last week of September.

Crags Drive (the Moccasin bypass) and portions of Stanley Avenue will be periodically closed, Thursday & Friday, September 25 & 26 for roto-milling. In addition, paving will cause temporary traffic interruptions and additional closures from Monday, September 29 through Wednesday, October 1.

Stanley Avenue will be repaved from Highway 36 near the Holiday Inn south to Prospect Avenue.  Paving on Crags Drive will begin at the top of the hill on the Moccasin Bypass, and continue downhill and north to the Donut Haus area, near the intersection with Moraine Avenue.

During this construction period, the recommended detour route to the hospital is access onto the southern leg of Stanley Avenue (off Highway 7) to Prospect Avenue.  The south portion of Stanley Avenue will not be affected by this project.

Also planned for milling and paving in October are two downtown parking lots at Virginia Drive and Wiest Street.

The Public Works Department is requesting consideration and attention while driving through these work zones.

Connell Resources of Fort Collins has been contracted to perform all of the 2008 street improvements for the Town of Estes Park. Please contact Greg Sievers, Project Manager, at the town’s Public Works Department at 577-3586 with questions or comments.
