RMNP Saturday Evening Program On Hotshots Wildland Firefighting
Saturday, January 9, 7:00 p.m., Hotshots – Experiences in Wildland Firefighting will be the Saturday evening program at Rocky Mountain National Park. Ever wonder what it’s like to be a wildland firefighter? The Alpine Interagency Hotshot Crew, based at Rocky Mountain National Park, is a group of men and women who are highly trained and skilled at fighting wildland fires. Get a glimpse into “a day in the life” of a crew member, hear about their challenging and often humorous experiences in 2009, and see some of the equipment that they use to accomplish work in our national parks, forests, and public lands. The program is held at the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and is free and open to the public.
