RMNP Offers Free Entrance This Weekend In Honor Of Veterans Day
In honor of all the current and retired United States armed forces members, all national parks which usually charge an entrance fee will waive this fee over the Veterans Day weekend. This means that anyone entering Rocky Mountain National Park Friday, November 11 through Sunday, November 13 can do so free of charge.
The Departments of the Interior and Agriculture started this fee free weekend in national parks in 2006. The waiving of the entrance fee to these public lands over the Veterans Day weekend is a show of appreciation to the millions of men and women in the armed forces whose job it is to protect our country.
Not only does visiting national parks provide a wonderful opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the parks, national parks have the added benefit of serving as an economic engine for the many local communities which surround them including creating jobs and driving tourism.
