RMNP License Plate Petition Needs Your Support
The Rocky Mountain Nature Association (RMNA) has gathered 2,262 signatures on their petition to introduce a new Rocky Mountain National Park Group Special License Plate. They need at least 1,000 more to bring the bill for this plate to the Colorado legislature in January 2014. If you are a Colorado resident, visit the RMNA web site, www.rmna.org, for information and to sign the petition. The deadline is December 27.
Rocky Mountain Nature Association, in partnership with Rocky Mountain National Park, plans to release this special license plate that will be available to Colorado registered vehicle owners. The unique plate design features a regal bull elk under a starry sky with alpine sunflowers and reads, “Rocky Mountain National Park.” The plate will be available by 2015 to coincide with Rocky Mountain National Park’s Centennial celebration.
This initiative requires 3,000 valid Colorado resident signatures in order to bring a bill to a vote in the Colorado legislature in January 2014. Signatures are also considered a pledge to purchase a plate (if the bill is approved by the Colorado House of Representatives). A $25.00 donation to RMNA will be required to obtain this special plate the first year, and a $20.00 annual donation in following years (in addition to state fees). Funds generated by the new plate will directly support the park.
Please proudly show your support for Rocky Mountain National Park by signing the license plate petition. Help celebrate the park’s Centennial and show the world your love for this spectacular and beloved place.
