Resurfacing Work On Trail Ridge Road

EP NEWS/ Kris Hazelton

During the summers of 2010 and 2011, a major resurfacing project will take place on Trail Ridge Road from the Colorado River Trailhead to Rainbow Curve. This project will also involve resurfacing of all major Trail Ridge Road overlook parking areas, pull offs and the parking lot at Alpine Visitor Center. Park visitors can expect 20 to 30 minute delays through the construction on Trail Ridge Road. There may be multiple areas of construction occurring concurrently, and in that case the combined delay time will not exceed 60 minutes. Resurfacing can only be done during the day due to temperature requirements. There may be some temporary night closures of Trail Ridge Road as well.

Please check at a park visitor center, entrance station, or call the Rocky Mountain National Park Information Office at 970-586-1206 for up-to-date information on road delays.

For recorded information on the status of Trail Ridge Road call 970-586-1222. For information about Rocky Mountain National Park call 970-586-1206 daily     8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
