Rails In The Rockies
The sixteenth annual Rails in the Rockies will take place Saturday, February 16th, from 9am to 5pm and Sunday, February 17th, from 9am to 4pm. The event will be held at the Convention Center at the Rocky Mountain Park Inn – located at the intersection of US Hwy 36 and Hwy 7
Tickets are $5 for adults. Children 12 and under are free with adult.
There will be special features for children including a search and seek and train set give away. Two interactive train layouts, an outdoor, electric riding train and a portrait and face painter round out the fun.
Youth in Model Railroading will demonstrate their layouts and the Kiwanis will display and sell their popular wooden trains. Special Rail in the Rockies T-Shirts for children, buttons, patches, pins and frisbeen flyers are also available.
The Grand Ballroom will host several modeling clinics – covering scenery construction, building weathering and more.
The Colorado/Wyoming Lego club will be on hand with their fantastic lego layout with custom made trains, buildings, people, scenery and the ever popular Circus Train will be running on the layout.
Featured train layouts from the Estes Valley Model Railroaders, Boulder, Northern Colorado and Greely clubs will be set up in the Grand Ballroom. The Nothern Colorado Garden Railway will also feature their garden railroad display.
Stock up on model railroading supplies from over 150 different vendors offering all kinds of railroading items. Meet representatives from the Greeley Freight Museum, the Forney Museum and the Railway and Locomtive Historical Museum.
