Plaid Raises Roof And Funds For Performing Arts Center
To The Editor:
Those who attended Sunday’s benefit concert for Supporters of the Performing Arts (SOPA) were treated to the wonderful and vibrant talent of five (barbershop quartet plus the accomplished pianist) young and energetic cast of Forever Plaid. Mickey Burdick and his crew, The Rocky Mountain Players, dedicated 100% of the proceeds to the construction fund for the new performing arts center. The event raised $1,817 for the cause. With continued enthusiasm and support from the community, there is hopes of having a building by 2010 to host these types of events, as well as many others.
Forever Plaid will be playing throughout the summer till August 17th, with performances on Wednesday thru Sunday nights at 7:30 p.m., as well as a Wednesday matinee at 2 p.m. The show is filled with laughter and close-knit harmonies. Comments from those in attendance included “I will definitely come again to see it, and bring my friends.” “What a fun fun show, I never realized what a good show it is.” “I loved the music…songs I hadn’t heard in a long time.” And the simple…”They are really good, thanks for a great night.” A big thank you to Mickey, his crew and cast for a fun night of quality entertainment. The show is family friendly, and the spoof on the Ed Sullivan Show will have everyone rolling in their seats! For only $16 a ticket for adults, and $9 for children, it’s a real bargain. Reservations can be made by calling 970-577-SHOW (7469).
