Patricia Breeding of Estes Park, CO died Thursday November 1, 2012 in Windsor, CO. She was 68 years old. Patricia Arlene Miller was born February 16, 1944 in Somerset, PA. Her parents were Ray and Ruby (Henry) Miller.
After high school Patricia was a clerk and stenographer for the Federal Government, working at the Pentagon in Washington, DC for 15 years. She met James Breeding while in the International Bible College in San Antonio, TX. They were married there on June 11, 1971. The couple worked at the Evangelistic Mission Center in Amarillo, TX in Children’s ministry and publication of the bulletin from 1971 to 1978. They moved to McAllen, TX where Patricia enrolled in the Missionary Institute for Spanish language training for missionaries. There, she also helped James in the print shop as a mail runner. During this time, they also did mission work in South Monte Rey, Mexico and in Brownsville, TX at Mata Moros.
Patricia taught Sunday School at the People’s Chapel in Pharr, TX. After 5 years, they moved to Colorado Springs, CO where they were members of New Life Church and worked at Arabic Printing, a mission to the Arabic community there, and were active in Cradle Quarters Pregnancy Center.
Since age 13, Patricia crocheted as a ministry making blankets and booties. In 1998 the couple moved to Estes Park where she volunteered at the Caring Pregnancy Center. It was there that she was awarded the Matthew Tribute award for her work.
Also there, she joined the Christian Church of Estes Park where she was a member of the Sisters of Faith Quilting Group. The marriage of Patricia and James was a model to many, based in faith and love. They often, if not always dressed in matching western wear. She took advantage of every opportunity to study God’s Word in Bible study groups. She spent many hours of the day in prayer and belonged to the Community Womens Bible Study Group. Patricia is survived by her husband James of Estes Park, brothers Alvin Miller of PA, David Miller of PA, James Miller of NJ, Stanton Miller of NJ, Josiah of PA, Ralph of PA and sisters Gloria Scrot and Peggy Johnson, both of PA.
A service celebrated Patricia’s life on Thursday November 8, 2012 at the Christian Church of Estes Park. Pastor Scott Weber officiated the ceremony. Burial took place at Estes Valley Memorial Gardens after a visitation at Allnutt Funeral Chapel Wednesday.
