Nominate Outstanding Community Members For The Estes Park Pride Awards

Know someone who deserves community recognition for their outstanding efforts? The Town of Estes Park is accepting nominations for the sixth annual Estes Park Pride Awards. Awards will be made in the categories of Volunteer of the Year, Teacher of the Year and Business Person of the Year. Nomination forms are available in Room 150 at Town Hall, 170 MacGregor Avenue, and at Forms should be returned by March 31 to Room 150 of Town Hall, 170 MacGregor Avenue, or by mail to Town of Estes Park, c/o Deputy Town Clerk, P.O. The Estes Park Pride Awards were created in 2005 as a way for the Town to provide special recognition to its citizens. Anyone in the Estes Park area can make a nomination or be nominated for an Estes Park Pride Award; residency within Town limits is not required.

Pride Awards will be presented at the annual Town of Estes Park Volunteer Recognition Luncheon in May. The Volunteer of the Year will receive $250 toward the non-profit of his or her choice. Teacher of the Year and Business Person of the Year will each receive $500.

In addition, an Estes Park High School Student Pride Scholarship will be presented to a member of the graduating class of 2011 during the annual Award Ceremony at the High School on May 9. The recipient of this award will be chosen for his or her participation in volunteer efforts and community service projects within the Estes Valley. Students applying for this $2,500 scholarship must complete a local scholarship application and attach a comprehensive essay detailing their community service and volunteer efforts. Local scholarship applications are distributed by the Estes Park High School Counseling Office to high school seniors. Please contact the High School Counseling Office for more information.

New this year, Estes Park Pride Award nominees will also be nominated for the State of the Community Volunteer Awards, hosted by United Way of Larimer County. Nominees will receive information about this program from United Way of Larimer County in April 2011.
