Move It! Dig It!

To the Editor:

I am writing to express how much fun my family had last weekend at the Move It! Dig It! Do It! fundraiser, put on by Lifelong Learning of Estes Valley. This fundraiser brought together dozens of vehicles for kids to climb aboard and learn about. They got to eat jelly beans in a stretch limo, watch a firefighter climb to the top of a ladder truck, pretend to drive a bulldozer, touch the brooms of a street sweeper, hang on the rope of a crane, lay on the bed of a camper, sit in a school bus, speak over the loud speaker of a police car, hop on the bed of an ambulance, pull the horn of a side dump truck, and so much more! There were crafts and a pancake breakfast, to boot! I was amazed how many businesses, organizations and individuals came together to enthusiastically teach the kids about their vehicles, and to donate their time for a great cause. I’ve never been to a fundraiser as brilliant and unique as this one, and I’m certain I enjoyed it as much as the children did. We are lucky to have such a giving community, allowing for such an expansive showcase of trucks. My family is already excited to go again next year!
