Mayor’s Challenge At Grand Lake’s Spirit of the Lake Regatta

Mayor-Spirit-grand-lakeCheer For Mayor Bill Pinkham and his wife Sue at 2014 Spirit of the Lake Regatta Kayak Race

On Saturday, August 23 don’t miss your chance to support the Mayor of Estes Park in a Mayor’s Challenge kayak race at the Spirit of the Lake Regatta in Grand Lake. The event will pit Mayor Pinkham and his wife Sue against the Mayor of Grand Lake, Judy Burke and her teammate for a friendly competition to see who can win the fabulous traveling trophy.

2013 marked the first Mayor’s Challenge Race, started by Grand Lake Mayor Judy Burke. The Mayor’s Challenge is a kayak race that takes place on Grand Lake and Mayor Judy won the trophy last year. Why not take a trip over to Grand Lake to watch Mayors Burke & Pinkham face off for the trophy and good fun, while raising money for a cause. Each Mayor chooses their own charity to see who can raise the most money. Together, Mayor Pinkham & Mayor Burke raised over $1,000 for their respective causes in 2013.

The Spirit of the Lake is an event which is open to rowers, kayakers, canoeists and Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUPers), with separate starts for each division.

Mayor’s Charity of choice is EVICS

This fun event is a fundraiser, let’s help our Mayor Pinkham win the challenge by supporting his Charity of Choice in the race!
