Estes Park resident Maurice Worley died at Estes Park Medical Center on Monday, September 14, 2009. He was 86 years old. Maurice C. Worley was born July 27, 1923 in Hastings, NE. His parents were Carl and Zella (Ludwig) Worley.
Maurice graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He also received his G.R.I. to become a Real Estate Agent. He owned and operated Professional Real Estate Brokers and Professional Real Estate Appraisers. He served as the president of the Board of Realtors. Maurice married Eleanor Masters on January 30, 1943 in Valley, NE. They lived in Omaha, NE and have been residents of Estes Park since August, 1974.
Maurice was a founding member of the United Methodist Church of Estes Park. He served on the Estes Park Medical Center Board, was a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and a past member of the Lion’s Club.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Eleanor Worley of Estes Park; a son, David Bruce Worley of Lake Forest, CA; a daughter, Patricia Ann Defa of Denver, CO; brothers Jean Worley of Ralston, NE; sister Clarice Denis and husband Elmer of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law Peter Ungar; sisters-in-law Geneva Worley and Marilyn Worley. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd Worley and Gordon Worley; a sister, Leta Ungar.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Estes Park, 1509 Fish Hatchery Road, Estes Park, CO.
