Mary Myrtle McVea White
A resident of Zachary, LA, she went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, while vacationing in Estes Park, Colorado. Her family smiles knowing that her beloved Rocky Mountains were the final glimpses she had of this earth, and they rejoice through tears that she is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father and a beauty that is unmatched here on earth! She was 87. From January 1999 to July 2005 she was a summer resident of Estes Park.
Funeral services were held in Zachary, LA on Wednesday, Aug. 27, conducted by the Rev. Campbell Silman, grandson-in-law of the deceased. Burial was in Young Family Cemetery, Zachary. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Joy White Barnett and husband Brad, Zachary; two sons, John Neville White and wife Jan, Magnolia, Ark., and Lotis “Mac” McVea White and wife Melinda, Zachary; five grandchildren, Michelle White Osborn and husband Andy, Shreveport, Michael White and wife Dannette, Magnolia, Rebecca White Silman and husband Campbell, Meredith White Lampton and husband Will, and Rachel White Unglesby and husband Trey, all of Zachary; and seven great-grandchildren, Madeline Osborn, Mary Osborn, North Lewis, Range White, Drew Silman, Sara Lampton and Emma Kate Unglesby. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 51 years, Lotis Dulo White; parents, Albert N. McVea Sr. and Myrtle Tucker McVea; two brothers, Albert Neville McVea Jr. and John Tucker McVea; and an aunt, Maude Bradford. Pallbearers were Johnny White, Mac White, Brad Barnett, Michael White, Andy Osborn, Campbell Silman, Will Lampton and Trey Unglesby. She was a member of Plains Presbyterian Church in Zachary La.
While living in Estes Park, she attended Rocky Mountain Church and was a member of the Summer Residents Association.
