Marjorie Kay was born May 7, 1932 in Chicago, IL. Her parents were James and Alice (Bowers) Kay. Marjorie grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. She taught elementary school for a few years, then moved to New York City where she became an Investment Researcher on Wall Street. She was a pioneer as a woman in the financial industry; one of only a handful at that time who was not a secretary. She had a second career as a financial advisor working with elderly clients, and a third career as a successful real estate agent. On October 2, 1965 she married James (J.R.) Robertson in Booth Bay Harbor, Maine. After raising two sons in New Jersey, the couple retired to Estes Park, CO where they were active at the Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies and the Rotary Club of Estes Park.
Marjorie is survived by her husband Jim of Estes Park, sons Michael Robertson (Lael) of St. Paul, MN, Craig Robertson (Zoe) of Mount Kisco, NY, and stepson Jim Robertson (Susan) of Lake Forest, IL; stepdaughters Jeanne Vlerebome (Richard) of The Villages, FL, Janet Armentrout (Ted) of Charlottesville, VA and Jane Zielinski (Tom) of Bernardsville, NJ. She is also survived by her brother George Kay (Joyce) of Spencer, MA, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
