Margaret Mary Stucky
Margaret Mary Stucky, 90, died peacefully on March 20, 2009 in Montrose, Colorado. Born and raised on the East coast, Margaret earned a degree in biochemistry in 1943 from the College of New Rochelle. She married a year later and had four children to whom she dedicated the next 20 years, passing on her love of learning, music, and the great outdoors.
In 1969, with her children now grown, Margaret realized a life dream and moved out to the Rocky Mountains and Estes Park, Colorado where she made her home for the next 35 years. She never tired of the natural beauty, of hiking and cross-country skiing with friends, and of always searching in the mysticism of the mountains. In Estes Park, Margaret worked at various jobs as a lab technician, a gardener, a waitress, and more. She was known among her friends for her abundant kindnesses and genuine warmth. She was happiest camping out under a wild sky full of stars or studying philosophy books with a hot cup of tea.
Margaret Stucky will always be remembered with great love by her three surviving children and her daughter-in-law, Marie, Martin, Daniel and JoJo De Santis.
