William Roland Devine

William Roland Devine, 60, passed away suddenly in his home, on the morning of June 28th, 2019. William, known to friends and family as Bill, was born on October 14th, 1958, in Tampa, FL. William spent most of his adolescence in both Florida and Michigan, graduating from Harry Hill High School in Lansing, MI, before moving to Colorado, where he would spend the rest of his life.

William was an avid sports player in his younger years, and a fan when his playing years were over. Growing up, he played baseball and basketball, but when he began fading into adulthood, he found the one sport that would become his whole life. His favorite sport to play, watch, and even coach, was softball. Before he became a coach, Bill played in a slow pitch softball league with all of his good friends, and he always loved to reminisce about the “good ol’ days” on the field. When his kids were old enough to start playing however, he hung up his bat, and put on his coaching gear. He coached both of his daughters from their recreational leagues, to competitive, and even when they were in high school. It was the one thing that made Bill the happiest he could’ve ever been, just being able to spend so much time with his family, doing what he loved most.

William worked for the same company for most of his adult life, and he was great at his job. Most of the time, when someone walked into any of the Napa Auto Parts stores William worked in, they would ask for him directly or wait until he was ready to help them. His loved ones believe it was his kind nature and his goofy attitude that kept people coming back. Bill spent the last decade or so working for the Napa Auto Parts in Milliken, CO, and he very rarely missed a day of work. Ask anyone he worked with, and they would tell you that he was one of the most hard working people they knew, and even on the hardest days, he always had a good attitude and a smile on his face.

William is survived by his three beautiful children, Morgan Devine, 24, Erinn Devine, 21, and Matthew Devine, 19, three of his four siblings, Mary Gooch (husband Allan), Dave Devine (wife Lisa), and Rick Devine (wife Colleen), his grandchildren, Ryder and Saylor Brady, many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his older sister Debbie Devine.

William will always be remembered as a shining light in many lives, whether it be his family, or old friends. He was very loved throughout his life, and will continue to be loved and missed dearly by those who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of his family.
