Lloyd Scott

Lloyd Wm. Scott, born October 9th 1939 in the city of Chicago to parents Gertrude and Lloyd C. Scott, died on Monday, January 14th surrounded and comforted by his family.

Lloyd was an inspirational person to many throughout his life, and a great father and family man to his children and grandchildren. His positive impacts on the communities he loved, and the people he loved, will be felt for years to come. Lloyd received a BA and MA from the University of Illinois, which he used to great effect during a 33 year music teaching career in the suburbs of Chicago.

Lloyd moved to Estes Park, CO in 1994 where he was very active in the community being involved with the Village Band, Jazz Big Band, Estes Park Chamber Music Society, Mountain Men, Fine Arts Guild of the Rockies, and the Noon Rotary. Lloyd also volunteered serving others at Crossroads Ministry, and with the Estes Park Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his three children, David of Parker, CO., Brian of Homewood, IL, and Elizabeth of Loveland, CO. Lloyd had six grandchildren, Adam and Allison Hohweiler, and Colin, Cailey, Caiden and Cristian Scott. Lloyd was a bright light in this world, and the examples he set forth will spread throughout the world for years to come. A wake will be held at Allnutt Funeral Home in Estes Park on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The service will be at Community Church of the Rockies in Estes Park at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013, with a luncheon provided by the church afterwards.
