Confused over the number of ballot issues to consider? Help is on the way! Come and join the League of Women of Estes Park and the Estes Valley Improvement Association on Thursday, October 16 at 7 p.m. in the Board Room of the Estes Park Municipal Building.
For this election cycle we will host a forum for candidates for national, state and Larimer County positions. Kevin Lundberg & James Ross (for State House 49), Randy Eubanks & Roger Hoffmann (for Larimer County Commissioners) will be at the forum. Tom Donnelly & Steve Johnson (for County Commissioners) and Betsy Markey & Marilyn Musgrave (for US House of Representative) have not yet responded. Various members of the League of Women Voters will also present the non-partisan pro-con statements on the various ballot issues. There are 14 state constitutional and statutory amendments, four state referenda, 1 Larimer County Referred Issue 1A, 4 Estes Valley/Estes Park Referred Issues 4C & 4D (Recreation District) and 5D & 5E (Local Marketing District) issues on the ballot.
ALERT: state amendments 53, 55, 56 and 57 have been withdrawn.
The League of Women Voter non-partisan state pro-con ballot issue pamphlets are now available and can be picked up at the Estes Park Public library.
The League of Women Voters of Colorado has put together a partial list of Proponents and Opponents of the various state ballot issues for your consideration (see list below).
We hope to see you at our Forum October 16, 7-9 p.m. in the Municipal Building or you can watch the presentation on Channel 12. A list of Proponents and Opponents to the State Ballot Issues 2008 will be available at the forum on October 16.
