Kris Butts of Estes Park died Friday, November 21, 2008 in Loveland, CO. He was 22 years old.
Kristopher J. Butts was born August 2, 1986 in Colorado Springs. His parents are Gregory Butts and Lisa (Brechtel) Devine. He grew up in Estes Park, CO where he attended school until he moved to York, NE and graduated. After a brief time in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Nebraska, spent time in Atlanta, GA, returning to Estes Park in May of 2008. That summer he worked at the Sundeck Restaurant, and most recently was a cook at the Rock Inn Restaurant. Kristopher attended Rocky Mountain Church in Estes Park, enjoyed playing dodgeball, music and was a meticulously dressed young man. Recently, he had been helping coach youth soccer.
He is survived by his mother Lisa Devine and her husband Dave of Estes Park, his father Gregory Butts and his wife Patricia of Stone Mountain, GA, grandparents Kent and Glenda Brechtel of Goshen, IN, and Rosa McWhorter of Atlanta, GA, a brother Kent White and a sister Kassidi of Estes Park and a sister Mary Devine of Harrison, MI.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Beth Brechtel. He will be missed by numerous aunts and uncles and his two cousins Reilly and Alexander who loved him very much. A thoughtful donation of Kristopher’s tissues and organs through Donor Alliance will benefit several grateful recipients.
A memorial service was held Tuesday November 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Rocky Mountain Church, 451 Promontory Drive in Estes Park.
