Kathryn Carmody

Kathryn Sue Carmody, 67, formerly of Longmont, died March 25 at St. Anthony-North in Westminster.

Kathryn (Kathy) was born on August 23, 1944, in Boulder, Colorado to Eddie T. and Ada Grace (Whipperman) Rowe. She grew up in Estes Park where she graduated from high school. Kathy married James (Jim) F. Carmody on November 10, 1963, in Estes Park and then the family lived in Boulder until 2000 when Jim and Kathy moved to Longmont.

Kathy for many years managed hotel accommodations for University of Colorado personnel. Kathy was an avid supporter of CU Buffalo football and was a member of Buffalo Bells. She also was a big Bronco fan who never missed a televised game. Kathy and Jim enjoyed traveling by car, she was also a fan of Elvis with a large collection of his music, and she collected hens resting on nest glass figurines.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her two daughters: Desiree Stone and husband Chris of Arvada and Chantal Howard and husband Brett of Kentucky; her honorary son Daryl Price and wife Audra of Texas; three brothers: Eddie Ray Barron and wife Sharon of West Virginia, Lloyd Rowe and wife Gail and Kenny Rowe and wife Mary all of Colorado; and four grandchildren: Brady, Maryssa, Dylan, and Anthony.

Memorial services were held on Monday, April 2 at Howe Mortuary. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services.
